Duhaney began an educational business development youth program, focusing on personal and financial responsibility and growth that took the form of a pro-active partnership with a marketing class at the Barbara Goleman High School in Miami. The program chose the student with best attendance to enjoy the sweet reward of a new car! The program quickly expanded to other schools, which fueled Duhaney’s desire to give even more by launching a cash prize competition for the highest scorer on the standardized statewide F-Cat exam. The results? attendance and test scores increased significantly in all participating schools. The program was catapulted when Duhaney partnered with CBS-4/WFOR to grant scholarships to outstanding students over a seven year period. Additionally Duhaney is affiliated with organizations such as The Board of Governor’s of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, The National Minority Automobile Association, The South Florida Automobile Association and more!

For over 30 years, Trevor Duhaney, 54 has been making waves as an African-American pioneer in the U.S. automotive industry. Among his many successful ventures, he was the President and CEO of the only African-American owned Pontiac dealership in South Florida. Staffed with over 60 employees from over 10 countries, boasting average yearly revenues of $36 million and recognized as the # 1 ranking Pontiac and GMC dealer in Miami-Dade County, Trevor Duhaney provided the business savvy and keen instincts to “drive” his dealership to the top levels of the automotive industry.. His community outreach and status as an icon in the Black community is practically famous in South Florida, from his weekly motivational show during the local Tom Joyner Morning Show featured on HOT 105 radio, the # 1 station in the market, to a constant demonstration of civic activism and outreach to the Hispanic, Caribbean and African-American communities. Recognizing just one of his important contributions, The Miami Herald, February 2000 Trevor Duhaney’s creative community initiative and unique business strategy. National recognition includes Duhaney Pontiac Buick GMC being named, year after year, as “one of the top black-owned auto dealers in the nation,” in Black Enterprise Magazine
